Echoes of Caldera
★★★★★ 4.5
Echoes of Caldera is a proper role-playing game that somehow fits comfortably on a phone. You build a party of four, level them along branching skill trees, and fight turn-based battles on a small tactical grid where positioning matters as much as raw stats.
The writing surprised me. Choices you make in early chapters come back later in ways that feel earned rather than gimmicky, and a couple of companion arcs stuck with me after I'd put the phone down. Combat stays fresh because enemy types force you to actually rethink your party layout.
Progression can feel slow if you rush the main quest and skip side content, so treat it like a game to savour rather than sprint. On a tablet it's genuinely lovely.
