Aurora Dominion trims the classic 4X formula down to something you can actually finish on mobile. You explore star systems, claim planets, manage a small economy and eventually clash with rival factions, all in matches that run a couple of hours rather than a whole weekend.
The economy is the heart of it. Production, research and fleet upkeep pull against each other constantly, so every turn is a small budgeting decision. The AI opponents play differently enough that you can't lean on one strategy every game.
Touch controls on the star map are the weak spot; pinching around a busy sector gets fiddly. But the core loop is tight and the compressed match length makes it easy to fit a full game into an evening.
